Barber & Beauty Scholarship Fund NEWS

May 19, 2010
Dear BBSF Donors & Players:

We had an incredible time this year playing golf, enjoying beautiful weather, and raising money for BBSF scholarship applicants. Not only were we able to enjoy a round of golf and friendly competition, but also we were able to enjoy breakfast, lunch, and good ole’ camaraderie. Our hope was to provide a casual, fun atmosphere that would be conducive to fellowship and giving to our worthy cause, I believe we were able to achieve that his year. Thank you to all who donated, but were not able to participate; and thank you to all the players and volunteers who made this scramble possible. We hope that all who participated this year will be back for next year ‘s scramble and invite more participants and possibly more donors. Please get the word out, BBSF welcomes tax-deductible donations year round in hopes of making the dreams of our scholarship applicants come true. Check out our pictures from the scramble and we hope to see you in 2011!

Thank You,
Melissa Williams

Attention Golfers & Donors!

The 3rd annual Barber & Beauty Scholarship Fund (BBSF) Golf Scramble is now in the history books. Our tournament was held on May 3, 2010 at Pecan Grove Plantation Country Club. If you were unable to participate in this event, any financial contribution to BBSF is welcomed and tax-exempt.

BBSF exists to give scholarships to students in financial need, who meet our strict criteria, and attend one of the Texas Barber College and Hairstyling Schools. Many of our students have turned from incarceration, gangs, and drugs to barbering or cosmetology in order to change their lives. Their stories are unique, heart breaking, and at the same time inspiring. Would you partner with me in helping these students? You can help by simply playing in this golf scramble, which lifts their financial burdens and allows them to learn a worthy trade. These scholarships help students earn a better income for their families, start a new life, and create an environment of change within their communities.

If you are interested in playing in our next golf scramble please email: melissa@barberscholarship.org to reserve your spot, sign up a foursome, or simply donate to our worthy cause!
